SWABI: Amir Muqam, adviser to the prime minister, assured the PML-N district leaders here on Thursday that his party would fulfil the pledges he had made with them and the people of Swabi district during the campaign for 2013 general elections.

The assurance was given to the district leaders in a meeting attended by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz district president Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, general secretary Dildar Khan and local government representatives belonging to the party.

Mr Muqam said that the interior ministry had given a green signal for opening the passport office in the district in January. He said that the construction of the building for passport office was in the final stages. He said that the passport office would also facilitate the people of all the nearby districts.

Dildar Khan told Dawn that the party leaders also raised the issue of Sui gas office because the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited had failed to establish its office here in the district and the consumers were forced to visit Mardan for minor correction of the bills.
