LAHORE: A teenage girl was gang-raped by a group of men after being drugged in a guest house in the Mall Road area here on Saturday, police said.
The 15-year-old victim was brought to Services Hospital where reports of initial medical tests revealed that the girl had been subjected to rape.
The teenager, who is a resident of Multan Road, was first kidnapped by unidentified men before she was taken to a guest house in the Mall Road area, said Station House Officer (SHO) Ahmad Usman.
"The girl was drugged and later six to eight men gang-raped her," added SHO Usman.
The victim was also tortured physically, stated the SHO.

After raping her, the perpetrators messaged her family to come and pick her up from a spot.
Police has arrested six suspects in connection with the gang-rape while two to three main suspects have managed to flee, stated the SHO.
The main accused, a PML-N member, is absconding in the case.
"Raids are being conducted to arrest all the accused in the case," said DIG Operations Haider Ashraf.
The victim, an 8th grade student, is receiving treatment in a hospital.
Rape is notoriously difficult to prosecute in Pakistan. In April 2011, the Supreme Court had upheld the acquittal of five men sentenced to death in Pakistan's most famous rape case, that of Mukhtar Mai.
Mai was gang raped in 2002 on the orders of a village council as punishment, after her brother, who was aged just 12 at the time, was accused of having illicit relations with a woman from a rival clan.
A local court had sentenced six men to death, but a higher court acquitted five of them in March 2005, and commuted the sentence for the main accused, Abdul Khaliq, to life imprisonment.

One among the many causes of such inhuman practices is the uncheked increased use of alchohalic breavages by a significant segment of society as a result not only the propensity for indulging in such forms of crimes increase but also the users in most cases demonstrate behaviours akin to the point of insensitivity. In the mist of intoxication the perpetrators find himself in a state in which it is becomes extremely difficult to listen to the voice of morality and the urge to honor human dignity. Most cases of crimes have been observed to be carried out under the influence of intoxication and the law inforcement agencies must take notice of this point. It can be just hoped that the ends of justice would be met and the real culprits would be nabed in order to provide the victim her right because it is impossible for all of us to bring back her the lost chastity but we can make the culprits a lesson for others who are not inclined to honor the dignity of someones chastity.

Don't wait for the federal government to do something. The public should get up and go on the streets asking for (nay demanding) justice. Indians did it after the Delhi gangrape. Look what happened. The culprits were not only all arrested and tried according to the law but further persistence by the public resulted in changing of an important juvenile law. The parliament passed a new law reducing the juvenile age in India from 18 to 16. Get up and go on the streets. Just like the French revolution let there be a Pakistani revolution.

The following needs to be done asap, otherwise this present gov has no legitimacy:
1) The owners of the guesthouse should be apprehended for allowing these activities to go unchecked
2) Their cases should be tried under the Pakistan Penal Code, instead all of the men should be tried by the army run anti terrorist courts, culprits should be brought to the gallows.
3) The culprits should be made an example of, so that nobody in the future dare do any similar thing
4) CM Punjab should personal oversee till the case runs under the jurisdiction of the police.
The Pakistan judicial system, needs swift reform.

The SHO concerned should arrest the owner of the Guest House and it should closed. From their guest house booking, the culprits must be arrested. This heinous crime is happening under the nose of the Prov Govt and good governance of Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Its total failure of the Govt, total failure of IG Punjab and bad intentions of SHO concerned as I have seen that Police is always helping the criminals and getting bribes and monthly from them.

The case was taken back by the family of the victim after a few days registering it. The media also did not reveal the names of the politician or the sons. These things need to change.

We should instead put pressure on the government for 1) Judicial reforms 2) Expose the culprits 3) FACES MUST BE SHOWN . I am not even surprised. That's exactly what happens when we vote for rapists and murderers. Now CM Punjab will take notice, ask police for report and will order them to arrest the culprits (they have to be ordered every time). The victim's family will be given Rs one million as compensation (like it was a car they damaged) and in few days this whole tragedy will fade away from minds until another girl is raped or another young boy is murdered. The main accused, PML-N Additional Secretary General Youth Wing Mian Adnan Sanaullah will become a member of NA as Lahoris will vote him again because Mian sahib ne metro jo banai he.

@Kamran Whilst I am not for one minute suggesting this young girl was of "loose character", even if she was, it should have no impact on the charges. If a woman agrees to have sex with 100 men, she is still entitled to refuse man 101, and if he forces himself on her, it is still rape. Rape is about violation and lack of consent, not about the character of the victim. When a prostitute is raped, it is still rape, and rapists should ALWAYS be punished.

Rape laws need to be changed fast and a strong FIR need to be ensured by the police so that the culprits are punished and a committee need to follow the case up to its logical end, this committee should also keep an eye on the police to ensure it is not taking bribes.

This girl could have been the daughter of any high ups yet the crime is being persued with no urgency. The PMLN government must realise that a case against their Anita to beat crime is building up and unless they wake up people will think twice before supporting the party in future.
