SIALKOT: An anti-terrorism court granted on Tuesday 10 days’ physical remand of eight suspects of the militant Islamic State (IS) group in different cases registered against them by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The CTD produced Jawad Ahmad aka Abu Hafs, Amir Sohail, Ijaz Ahmad, Adnan Babar aka Danu Kabarria, Saeed Ahmad aka Abuzar, Yasir Ali, Hamza Imtiaz and Waqas Ahmad before the ATC in Gujranwala amid tight security and sought their physical remand.

After obtaining the remand, the CTD shifted the suspects to an unspecified place for further interrogation.

The CTD personnel arrested the suspects from Sialkot region and seized weapons, explosives and laptops, as well as a large number of compact discs containing publicity material.
