GWADAR: National Party’s candidate Muhammad Akram Dashti was leading in the by-election for PB-50 Turbat-3, which was held on Thursday amid tight security.
According to reports, the turnout remained low as in many areas voters could not reach polling stations for fear of militant attacks. In some areas, militants fired rockets. However, no damage was reported.
According to unofficial reports till late night, Mr Dashti was leading with 2,608 votes against 2,001 secured by Akbar Askani of PML-N. Independent candidate Lala Khurshid bagged 1,028 votes.
