Real-life Grinches steal 190 Christmas trees

Authorities in Britain released video of two real-life Grinches stealing 190 Christmas trees using a van later spotted selling the pilfered pines.

Greater Manchester Police said the two men pulled their van up to the Khawja Brothers Mini Market in Chorlton last month and loaded the vehicle with trees.

The men returned again after two days and stole another load of trees, bringing the total number of stolen plants to 190.

Police said residents have reported seeing the van selling Christmas trees around Chorlton.

“The shop owners were devastated to discover that 190 of their Christmas trees had been stolen. This is their livelihood and the offenders selfishly put their business in jeopardy,” Detective Constable Trudy Lindsey of South Manchester division said.

Massachusetts zoo sells artwork painted by animals

Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, Mass., is selling off a number of art pieces that were painted by the zoo’s various animals. The proceeds from the event known as ‘Art Gone Wild’ will benefit the park’s educational programmes.

A video posted to Facebook shows the zoo’s Harbour Seal, Blue, painting one of its pieces and describes the process by which the works were created.

“One of the key components of this programme is the strong bond the animals have with their zoo keepers,” the post read. “These enhanced training skills allow zoo keepers to paint with various zoo species in a reward based process.”

The auction features 50 pieces of one-of-a-kind artwork painted by animals using brushes with their own paws or mouth!
