NEW YORK: Former president of Pakistan and Pakistan People’s Party leader Asif Ali Zardari is awaiting arrival of former ambassador to Washington Sherry Rehman in Washington this week, informed sources here said.
Mr Zardari, who arrived in New York last week has since been avoiding limelight and is expected to appear in public when his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Ms Rehman arrive here.
According to informed sources, Mr Zardari is trying to avoid meeting his other former envoy Husain Haqqani, who has been accused by the Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Khawaja Asif of lobbying the US Congress not to sell F-16 fighter planes to Islamabad.
Mr Zardari is expected to meet US lawmakers and officials of the US State Department.

@Syed Husain Exactly. Zardari need not meet Haqqani face to face for Skype is available. Nevertheless, Pakistan never had an Ambassador who sold his supposed country out and never had a President who appointed such an individual. Strange people came to rule Pakistan after Musharraf's NRO.

@Syed Husain lol!!! he cannot visit Pakistan due to illness (as per official info) bus can visit US. These politicians (including current govt.) don't want to visit hospitals in Pakistan but are always ready to rule this country!!!

Only leader in Pakistan who ever came back and stayed there is Gen. Pervaiz Musharraf. Others like Zardari, Altaf Bhai and PM Nawaz Sharif and others have nationalities of other countries, in case they have to leave.
A living proof how politics in in Pakistan works..

@Kamal Pasha You are assuming U.S. government its innocent and has no skeletons in its own closets?
Besides, having pending civil or criminal cases is not a reason to deny anyone entry into a country. It is only convictions of a serious crime that may lead to denial into certain countries, but that only applies to handful of countries, such as UK, Canada, Australia etc...
