LAHORE: The city witnessed the coldest day of the winter season on Wednesday with maximum temperature at 13 degrees Celsius.

The ongoing cold and dry spell is likely to continue for the next two days due to prevalence of continental air over most parts of the country.

There would be dense foggy conditions over plains of Punjab, Peshawar division besides upper Sindh during night and morning hours in the coming 48 hours, said the Meteorological Department on Wednesday.

In Lahore, the Met Office recorded maximum temperature at 13 degrees Celsius and the minimum 05 with relative 82 per cent humidity in the evening.

The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Skardu which was -11 degrees Celsius. It was -10 degrees Celsius in Astore, -07 each in Kalam and Gupis, -06 in Rawlakot, -05 each in Dir, Hunza and Gilgit, -04 each in Zhob, Quetta and Parachinar, -03 in Dalbadin, -02 in Malamjabba while -01 (each) degree Celsius in Bunji, Sibbi, Abbotabad, Lower Dir and Bannu.
