RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif on Thursday telephoned Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and shared with him investigation details of yesterday's brazen terror attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, said the military's media wing chief.

In successive messages on Twitter, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) head Lt Gen Asim Bajwa said the army chief also shared these details with Afghan chief executive Abdullah Abdullah and commander of Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces in Afghanistan Gen John Campbell.
Bajwa said investigation on the Charsadda university attack had revealed it was "being controlled from a location in Afghanistan through an Afghan cell phone by a TTP operative."
Earlier today, foreign office spokesman said that an investigation into the varsity attack is under way and will be completed shortly.
He added that due action will be taken against the perpetrators and facilitators of the attack once the process is completed.
At least 20 people were killed when four unidentified gunmen entered Bacha Khan University in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Charsadda town Wednesday and opened fire on students and faculty members as they gathered at the school for a poetry recital to commemorate the death anniversary of the activist and leader whom the school is named after.
The mastermind of the APS Peshawar attack, Umar Mansoor, of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Geedar group had claimed the attack through a post on his Facebook page, adding that four attackers were sent to the university.
Later, in a press conference, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Asim Bajwa claimed that security forces have acheived major breakthroughs in identifying the terrorists who attacked the varsity.
Bajwa also said forensics and fingerprints of the attackers had been shared with the National Database Registration Authority (Nadra), adding that "an intelligence picture is also being created with input from Nadra."
He added that intelligence-based operations (IBOs) are being carried out to hunt down the facilitators of the terrorists involved in the attack.

My request to COAS ... please stop playing nice with the Afghans. We gave them shelter for almost three decades and even then they stab us in the back by singing to Indian RAW tunes. Let's include the word "Must" in every conversation with them. They MUST hunt these murderers down or hand them over to us and they MUST stop allowing their territory to be used by Indian intel agency against Pakistan.

We had asked Afghanistan even after the earlier Peshawar school attack but they did nothing since they are partners in it with Indian RAW. . We should not expect any support from them even in future but take practical actions towards Afghanistan e.g., blocking the Afghan transit trade route etc. . also we need to take it up internationally and try to expose the real face of Indian and Afghan intelligence agencies behind these attrocities!

Good move. terrorism cannot be eliminated alone. mutual cooperation and friendship is very necessary between all the nations located in Indian subcontinent. To fight terrorism, intelligence sharing also should be done. moreover joint military operations should be carried out. Blaming each other will not solve the issue but unnecessarily increase the misunderstandings. we subcontinent people are bug victims of misunderstandings.

We still don't know how to secure our institutions. These days technology is cheap please mount cameras on the boundary walls and cover all angles. Hire more people who work in shifts to see all movements. Or make use of Laser as a boundary beyond the walls with rapid response teams. Anyone approaching any institution with army or police uniform should produce identity papers, etc, etc..

I see. You are comparing Pakistan's reply to Pathankot with this attack. Well there are two major differences.
1) Pak special forces killed the terrorists and gathered important evidence in few hours. Indians let the whole drama drag on for 5 days as if they wanted it to be that way to keep the story in the news.
2) TTP, which is based in Afghanistan claimed responsibility for Charsadda. No Pakistan based group ever claimed responsibility for Pathankot. At least not the one's India is accusing.

The country is run by a bunch of warlords that accept the highest bidder and provide refuge to terrorist, criminals, drug trafficker you name it, so this should be proof enough.

Seal the borders with Afghanistan, these murderers entering KP from porous borders. Move all the Afghans from Pakistan back to their home country except those born and raised in Pakistan and doing legal businesses and joined military or police forces. Any one involve with madrassas or criminal acts be immediately send back, they can finish those madrassas in Afghanistan. I am pretty sure Pakistan government knows how to track and find the sympathizers and organization which involved behind these murderers.

Whenever a massacre of this kind occurs, it is usually claimed that it was a suicide-bombing. This relieves the authorities of their responsibility to hunt down the culprits. Moreover, following such an act, the authorities claim that they had given all the fore-warning to all the concerned quarters. If that is the case, then why are not such massacres preempted and stopped in their tracks before they happen? Such large scale killings of similar type present a definite pattern and computer work can be used to trace their fountainhead, and fall within the responsibility of our main security forces. Afghanistan is currently under American control and therefore that superpower may also be requested for help.

Army Chief should not go to Afghanistan and have photo session with Ghani after each massacre originated in Afghanistan. That is the main purpose of making world largest Indian Consulates in Afghanistan- the terror training camps. Its time people of KP should take charge, send all Afghan back to Afghanistan and the Governor should tell the Afghan Presidents of consequences. KP should annex complete FATA and put a government all the way to Afghan borders with major highways. Improve living in FATA so that Afghans should nor recruit the commons.

Where as in Pathankot terrorists were bottled up in a corner,and aim was to get one of them alive.That is why it took long
