Norm of the North is, in simple words, a movie about a polar bear on a mission to save the Arctic. But there is much more to this computer-animated fur-filled family-friendly comedy that turns this simple plot into a feast to watch.

Heavy-pawed Norm (voiced by Rob Schneider) is a polar bear who can communicate with humans, emote and is an ace dancer, but he is not a hunter like other polar bears. He is too soft for that. So when his Polar community finds out that there is a plot underway to turn their pristine land into an upscale retreat for the ultra rich humans, they decide to take matters into their own hands to stop this.

Norm, due to his more ‘human’ qualities, is selected to head to New York City to stop an unscrupulous Manhattan condo developer from ruining the North Pole.

Three mute lemmings accompany Norm to the big city and they, with their odd and inappropriate ways, play a major role in making this movie so much fun.

Among a host of other animal and human characters in the movie are a wise, bald and hook-beaked bird named Socrates who mentors Norm, and Olympia (Maya Kay) a brainy young environmentalist.

The movie gives the message of ‘save the planet’ in a very fun-filled and animated way that makes it worth a watch for kids.
