MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif came down heavily on elements “practising the politics of opportunism and opposing efforts to improve PIA services, include new planes in its fleet, scrap its losses and facilitate passengers”.

He was addressing a joint sitting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and the AJK Council on Friday.

“We want everyone, including PIA employees, to work for the betterment of the national flag carrier. If some parties are supporting them for the sake of politics, it’s not fair,” he said.

Mr Sharif reiterated that the government would not bow to any unlawful and unjustified strike.
