CHARSADDA: The vice-chancellor of Islamia College University, Peshawar, Prof Ajmal Khan, has said the province is passing through the most critical period of its history with regard to education as the educational institutions are being targeted by terrorists.
Speaking at the annual prize distribution ceremony of the local branch of the Peshawar Model School here on Sunday, he urged the teachers and parents to play their role effectively to create conducive atmosphere for promoting education to the new generation.
He asked teachers to inculcate moderation and enlightenment in students’ approach so they could resist those propagating extremism in the society.
He said the Peshawar Model School system was providing quality education to the new generation in the province who contributed to the progress and prosperity of the country. Dr Ajmal gave away prizes to students attaining leading positions both in academic and co-curricular activities.
The speakers paid rich homage to those died in the terrorist attacks on the Bacha Khan University and the Army Public School, Peshawar.
