KHAIRPUR: Custodians of various shrines in Khairpur district called to a meeting at the SSP office on Tuesday were told to form their respective teams of volunteers who would be assigned the task of thoroughly checking visitors to pre-empt a terrorist attack.

Presiding over the meeting, Mirwah SP at Khairpur Hassan Sardar informed the custodians of a strategy to combat terrorism by ensuring private security at and around vulnerable targets. He said custodians of all shrines in the district were required to form a team of their respective volunteers and provide the list of their personnel data to the SHO concerned. Such teams would undertake checking of visitors at the entrance of the shrines to ensure that no terrorist or suspicious person was able to carry out an attack, the SP said.

The meeting was told that closed-circuit television cameras would be installed at all shrines.

Custodians of Dargah Sakhi Gul Shah, Dargah Syed Razaullah Shah, Dargah Syed Yousuf Shah, Dargah Shah Maharo and Dargah Loung Faqeer were among those who attended the meeting and assured the district police of their full cooperation in executing the security plan.
