ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday said the federal government was committed to giving university status to Islamabad Model Postgraduate College for Girls F/7-2.
Addressing students at Qirat and Naat competition on Tuesday at the college, he said that this institution would be upgraded to university level.
Last year, the government had announced its decision to give the college university status and earmarked an amount of Rs100 million.
“We have completed comprehensive work in this regard,” a statement quoting the minister said.
Earlier, the minister said the government would provide missing facilities to schools and colleges of the federal capital under Prime Minister Education Reforms Programme, besides hiring new teachers according to the need of the institutions.
He said a training programme for capital’s teaching staff would be started soon to improve the quality of education. He said solution to the country’s problems lied in education therefore the government had focused its attention on this sector
