LAHORE: A two-member delegation of the federal government left for Vatican here on Tuesday to extend invitation to Pope Francis for a visit to Pakistan.
Federal Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yusuf and Ports & Shipping Minister Kamran Michael are carrying Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s invitation for the visit by the end of year.
Talking to media at the airport, the minister said the issue of Pakistani migrants stranded in various European countries would also be taken up before the highest Catholic priest.

Why should Pope be invited to visit? He may, however, be welcomed if he requests to visit Pakistan.

What a great move to promote Pakistan's true picture. We respect all communities and we should clarify the misconceptions of the world about Pakistan. I have started to like Nawaz Sharif with everything he is doing in his tenure.

Hope that he makes the visit, for the sake of the nation. And that nothing happens during the visit.

It is extreme narrow mindedness. If the Mosque Imams and Muftis of Saudi Arabia and Egypt can be invited then why not the Pope or other Cardinals. The Muftis are of no international importance ; the Pope is.
Just feel how happy the catholics of Pakistan must be with this news. Let us join their happiness.
