QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri inaugurated here on Thursday the reopening of the Sibi-Harnai railway track. The track had been lying closed for a few years because of terrorist attacks.

The chief minister said that terrorists could not stop development process in Balochistan and the government would continue its efforts to root out terrorism.

“Civil and military leadership are on the same page in the war on terror,” he declared, adding that he saluted the personnel of the Pakistan Army, the Frontier Corps of Balochistan, police and Levies Force for playing a crucial role in restoring peace and normality in the province.

Mr Zehri said that the so-called freedom fighters had destroyed railway tracks and damaged important installations which had caused difficulties for the people of the area.

“These so-called freedom fighters who have created problems for the people of Balochistan are terrorists,” he said.

The chief minister said that civil and military leaderships would continue their joint efforts to make Balochistan a peaceful and economically thriving province.

He said that the backbone of terrorists had been broken and peace had been restored in the province.

Earlier, the chief minister, along with Commander of Southern Command Lt-General Aamir Riaz, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattah, FC Inspector General Major-General Sher Afgun, PD of Pakistan Railways Muhammad Aarif, provincial ministers and other officials, reached Sibi and inaugurated the reopening of Harnai-Sibi railway track.
