SUKKUR: Appreciating the services being rendered by the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday announced a grant of Rs40 million for the institution and expressed the hope that it would continue its mission of imparting education of highest standards to the youth of Sindh.

Speaking as the chief guest at the Sukkur IBA’s third convocation, the chief minster paid tribute to its director, Prof Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, for maintaining world-class standards and producing best graduates within a short span of time.

He observed that the students graduating from the Sukkur IBA were earning a good name for Pakistan in the entire region. He described the institution’s efforts as highly commendable service to the province and community which, according to Mr Shah, the institution was carrying on as its mission.

The chief minister congratulated the passing out graduates on achieving success and their institution for attaining the status of ‘best educational institution’ in the province. He wished them all success also in future.Senior PPP leader and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, who was the guest of honour at the convocation, also spoke.

A total of 150 fresh graduates were awarded degrees in business administration, electrical engineering, computer science, education and mathematics.

In his welcome address, Prof Siddiqui thanked Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, MNA Noman Islam Shaikh and others for the support and cooperation extended to the institution in helping it accomplish its mission.

He held out the assurance that the Sukkur IBA would become one of the leading educational institutions of the country very soon.

Nine most brilliant students of the institution were awarded gold medals; three received silver medals and one student was awarded the bronze medal at the convocation.
