GWADAR: A delegation of the Command and Staff College Quetta comprising under-training army officers visited the port city of Gwadar on Sunday.

Members of the delegation, which also included army officers of various countries, visited different development projects in the city. They took interest in these projects and asked questions from officials there about the Gwadar deep sea port and other development plans.

Director General of Gwadar Development Authority Dr Sajjad Hussain briefed the delegation on future plans for the port city. He said under a master plan Gwadar would be made a modern city. With the cooperation of China a ‘smart city plan’ has been made for Gwadar. Under the plan, latest facilities would be provided to investors, he added. He said special measures were being made to make Gwadar a safe city.

He said the government had provided lands for a free trade zone and an international airport.
