Feedly

Published March 19, 2016

These days, adults as well as children read a lot online and have tonnes of their favourite websites which are bookmarked in the browser to revisit later; the list of favourite websites gets bigger and bigger. Ultimately it makes one reluctant to go through the long list and find the one they wanted, thus forgetting it and, unfortunately, the great sites are never visited again!

So to keep track of your favourite site and its updated content, there is Feedly — a website that organises and brings the contents of your favourite sites on one page. Basically, it is a content aggregator which means that you just have to tell it the websites you visit the most or want to follow; Feedly will then help track their content for you and it will make it viewable on one page. You can access blogs, news sites, podcasts, video channels, basically anything that is available on the internet without the hassle of opening the tens of tabs in your browser.

Sign up with your account and the homepage shows you random categories to go through, which include food, marketing, tech, design, fashion, gaming, baking, DIY, photography, business, news and a lot more. By clicking on any, the world of internet just pops up in front of you whether it is news, articles, videos, pictures related to the category you just chose.

However, if you want to be specific and want to add a source to your Feedly feed, just click on the plus icon on the upper left. To organise sources in terms of importance, click on ‘Personalise’. You can save articles across devices or share them on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Evernote, Pinterest, or LinkedIn.

Or you can add the link in the search box or the topic you are searching for. You can click ‘+’ symbol to save and it is then shown in the left panel which is basically the contents/index of your internet galore; you can even categories your feed accordingly such as weird, news, children, health, medical, music, etc.,

Some will find the interface initially a little difficult to navigate as help is not readily available. But it is still not complicated as there are just few simple steps to follow and understand and there you go with everything on one page!
