LAHORE: The boys U-18 and U-14 events of the Servis National Junior Ranking Tennis Championships entered the quarter-finals stage at the Bagh-i-Jinnah courts here on Monday.

In the U-18, Hamza bin Rehan overcame the challenge from Mustafa Ali 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in a 40-minute pre-quarterfinal battle.

It took three sets for Mujahid Khan to edge out Hafiz Arbab Ali 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 while in another three-set pre-quarterfinal encounter Barkatullah overpowered Behzad Shahid 6-1, 6-7(5), 6-1.

In other U-18 pre-quarterfinals, Asadullah beat Abdul Sami, Haris Irfan-ul-Haq overpowered Ahmed Kamil, Yousuf Khan defeated Adil Khan and Nalain Abbas downed Shaheer Hammad.

Meanwhile, in the U-14 Hamza booked place in last-eight as he registered a superb 6-0, 6-0 victory against Zaryab Khan 6-0, 6-0.

Other U-14 matches also remained one-sided.
