ISLAMABAD: Director General (DG) National Police Bureau Muhammad Amlish was made DG Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Prime Minister's Office said on Tuesday.

Amlish, who was serving at BPS 21 level in the Police Service of Pakistan will replace acting DG FIA Captain (retd) Abid Qadri who took charge after DG Akbar Khan Hoti took over a new assignment.

Amlish served as Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Additional IG Special Branch Punjab Police, Additional IG Investigation Punjab Police, DIG Headquarters Punjab Police and Capital City Police Officer (Lahore).

Correction: An earlier version of this story reported Muhammad Amlish replaced Tehseen Anwar Shah. The error is regretted.
