Check this out. Singer Zoe Viccaji is of the view that it is difficult for women in Pakistan to pursue a career in music. She said this in Karachi as one of the panelists at a programme on the topic of ‘women in music’.
To be honest, the music scene in Pakistan has not been very encouraging overall, especially for the last decade or so. Only a few television shows bring to attention the talent that this country has in the field. Concerts are few and far between, as are record deals. So it is difficult for even men to make a mark for themselves in music, leave alone women. I guess Zoe V was killing two birds with one stone.
