DADU: Five injured in raid

DADU, Nov 14: Five members of a family, including two women, were injured when the Faridabad police raided their house in the Obhayo Sodhar village in Mehar Taluka on Thursday night.

The Faridabad police, led by SHO Hakim Ali Khoso, raided the house of Haji Ghulam Nabi Sodhar, searched the house and took away 10 tolas of gold jewellry, Rs20,000 in cash and other valuables.

Earlier, when the residents of the house protested, the police beat them up as a result five members of the family, including two women were injured.

The injured were taken to a local hospital.

On Friday, Mr Sodhar filed a direct application in the court of the district and sessions judge against the SHO, Faridabad police station, Hakim Ali Khoso; Head Constable Asghar and five other constables stating that the police party raided his house, tortured two women and three others and took away Rs50,000 in cash, 10 tolas of gold and other valuables.

He also stated that the police had threatened to implicate him in false cases if he did not pay Rs50,000 as bribe.

The district and sessions judge has issued notices to the SHO and other policemen concerned to appear in the court on Saturday along with the record.
