THATTA, Nov 14: Five fishermen were airlifted by an Indian border security force helicopter while they were fishing in the territorial waters of Pakistan near Keti Bunder on Wednesday.

This was said by Juman, Akhtar, Salim and Rahim Borio who, after the incident, escaped in their fishing vessel to shore at the coastal town of Jati.

They said 30 fishermen were busy in fishing when a helicopter emerged on the sky and hovered over their fishing vessels, making an announcement that it belonged to the Indian border security force.

The fishermen said some of the personnel climbed down the helicopter through a rope ladder and airlifted Mohammad Rafiq, Karo, Ramazan, Sikandar and Ilyas.

Their belongings were set ablaze during the raid, the fishermen said and added the force restored to aerial fire before leaving.

They said they steered one of their vessels back to shore.

The fate of the remaining 21 fishermen could not be ascertained.

The incident was followed by the arrest of 13 Indian fishermen by the Maritime Security Agency in the territorial waters of Pakistan.
