HARIPUR, Nov 14: The district administration has barred the Afghan refugees from entering into the city limits after 6 pm.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday ASP Rana Abdul Jabbar said the decision was taken to arrest the growing crime rate.

He said that the record of the district police stations indicated the involvement of Afghan refugees in criminal activities. He said therefore the administration has decided to ban their entry into the city limits after 6 pm till Eidul Fitr.

He also ascribed the 70 per cent crimes in the district to the presence of Afghan refugees in Haripur, adding that the normalcy could return after their repatriation.
