Wonder women of Pakistan

This is with reference to the cover story “Wonder women of Pakistan” (YW, March 5). The article was indeed motivating, especially for teenage girls.

However, if the article had carried more names of the promising women of Pakistan, including Samina Baig, the first Pakistani woman to climb all the seven highest peaks in the seven continents within the period of eight months and also hoisting Pakistani flag on all the seven summits, including Mount Everest, it would have been really great.

Such achievement and record is extraordinary for anyone. We appreciate and duly honour the heroic feat of Ms Samina Baig.

Living within a budget

This is regarding the cover story “Living within a budget” by Yasmin Elahi (YW, March 19). The article was the need of the time as most kids these days just don’t care when they demand anything from their parents. They think their parents will arrange whatever they want and, of course, parents do because parents don’t want their kids to be sad. But kids should ask themselves if what they are demanding is really important.

Also, children should develop the habit of saving money, so if they want something which is not a need, they can buy it from their saved money rather than asking parents to buy it. Parents already have many things to look after.

I appreciate the writer and the YW team for publishing an article on such a topic which kids should be reminded of every now and then.

Toothache, an uninvited guest

This is regarding the story “Toothache, an uninvited guest” by Gulrukh Tauseef (YW, March 19).

Firstly, lying is a very bad habit and we should all avoid lying at all costs.

Secondly, this story was a good reminder to kids who don’t brush their teeth and are careless about physical hygiene. Health is a gift from God we should take care of it always.

Build your personality

This is regarding the article “Build your personality” by Aeman Anees (YW, March 19). The article inspired me to bring positive changes in my personality by looking at what I have in me.

There are many ways available to us to gain knowledge and lead an ideal life. However, people usually don’t focus on their character, values, strength and attributes. The article showed how we can standout in the world and take inspiration from successful people.
