Sony announces PlayStation VR release date

Sony PlayStation users will be able to experience the company’s version of virtual reality in October when it launches its VR headset. The price tag will be £349.99 in the UK and $399 in the US, and the device has been hailed by the firm as “a transformative experience in gaming”.

The technology will work with the PlayStation 4 console and it will immerse the headset wearer in 360-degree virtual worlds.

Its launch comes in a big year for virtual reality with Facebook’s long-awaited Oculus Rift available in the US from March 28 for $599 and the HTC Vive released from April 5 for $799. Both require high-end PCs. Sony expects to have more than 50 games available from October’s launch until the end of the year. Also included in the £349.99 bundle are headphones and cables, but a camera users will need is sold separately for about £40.

Bryan Adams’ guitar defaced by Egyptian customs officials

The rocker is not too happy with Egyptian customs officials whom he accused of scribbling on his vintage six-string.

A Facebook post shows the green marker they used. “Airport customs graffiti on my 1946 Martin D-18 from Egypt,” Adams said.

Other social media photos show the Grammy winner performing near the Sphinx and Pyramids of Giza. Adams also managed to snap a selfie with the ancient sculpture.

He further said, “Thank you for writing about the guitar, I really appreciate it, it will be fixed no problem,” Adams said to his Egyptian fans on Facebook.

“The incident of defacing our instruments at airport customs is annoying, but it needed to be said,” the singer said. “Much love to you all and look forward to bringing my family to visit you one day soon. ... Next time no green markers please!”
