LAHORE: Hyderabad and Faisalabad record impressive victories in one-sided matches as the Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah National Women Cricket Championship started here on Friday.

Excellent bowling by Maham Manzur, who took five wickets for just seven runs, helped Hyderabad outclass Abbottabad by nine wickets.

Batting first, Abbottabad totalled a paltry 79 all out in 25.1 overs as Maham dazzled with the ball.

In reply, Hyderabad raced to the target for the loss of just one wicket in 18.2 overs. Lubna Naz top-scored (33) as she struck six boundaries. Tooba Waheed made 16 with two fours.

In the second match, Faisalabad outplayed Quetta by eight wickets thanks to fine bowling by Uzma Younus and impressive batting by Umme Hani.

Batting first, Quetta posted a modest 116-8 in 50 overs with Samina Kasi (36, five fours) and Ayesha Siddiqa (29) being the chief contributors. Uzma Younus claimed four wickets for 16 runs. In reply, Faisalabad overhauled the target for the loss of only two wickets in 25.3 overs. They were served well by Umme Hani who hit 50 not out with two boundaries. Aysha also contributed an undefeated 38 featuring three fours.
