SIALKOT: Local exporters kicked off another mega project of establishing a private international airline on a self-help basis here on Wednesday.

The recently-established company formally started the registration of directors of “Airsial” launched under the supervision of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

This was formally announced by Airsial patron-in-chief Fazal Jilani while presiding over a meeting held at the SCCI auditorium.

He termed the registration of directors of the Air Sial another landmark achievement of local exporters who would complete the mega project on their own.

Mr Jilani said he hoped that the new airline would begin its operation by the end of the current year, adding the airline’s official logo would soon be unveiled.

The meeting was told that the Airsial management would prefer to buy Boeing 727-800 aircraft for its domestic and international flight operations.

He said the Sialkot exporters had already completed different mega projects, including international airport, dry port, export processing zone, small industrial estates, all main inter-city roads under the city development package, on the self-help basis.
