Former batsman Mohsin Khan will not appear before Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja if he is called by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for an interview for the position of the national team’s head-coach.
Raja and Akram are members of a panel which has been appointed by the PCB to carry out the recruitment process for the position left vacant by Waqar Younis.
The duo made their debuts at the time when Mohsin was retiring from cricket and the 61-year-old says he will not be answerable to his 'juniors'.
"If and when I do apply for the post I will do it directly to the Board Chairman. I will not agree to any interviews with Wasim and Ramiz who are juniors to me in Pakistan cricket," Mohsin was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India.
The former cricketer, who later made a career as an actor, is a top contender for the coaching position which, if it materialises, will be his second stint with the national side.
In his first spell in 2011-2012, Mohsin managed to secure series wins against Sri Lanka (all three formats), Bangladesh (all three formats) and England (Tests) before Dave Whatmore replaced him as the Pakistan coach.
"I have also coached the national team successfully in the recent past. So I see no reason for me as a matter of principle to prove my credentials to players who started their careers towards the end of mine," he added.
"The Board treated me unjustly then and removed me without giving any justifiable reason. I had done well as chief coach and I got along well with the players. There was no reason to remove me."
The PCB has been on the hunt for a new coach since Waqar Younis resigned following Pakistan’s disastrous show at the World T20. Other changes saw T20 skipper Shahid Afridi step down and replaced by Sarfraz Ahmed and the national selection committee disbanded.
Mohsin also advised the cricket board to consider local names for the position before going for foreign contenders.
"I would advise the Board to stop looking at foreign coaches and repose faith in their local coaches," he said.

I cant understand , in game were is the question of junior and senior , Each of them are very good and each should respect each other. Why pak player keep bashing each other. Sachin, vvs lakshman, Sewag played under Dhoni without complaining. Common you are assigned certain task you need to do it . Why this egoism ?

Already, the attitude and egomaniacal behaviour has begun and he hasn't even earned a spot. His seniority is based off the fact that he was born earlier than Akram and Raja? PCB needs to stand firm and not allow this type of behaviour to seep in to the ranks. We've already had issues with players and coaches acting this way which resulted in disaster.

Thanks for making yourself ineligible for the post. With such attitude , you cannot even coach club cricket let alone Pakistan National Side. No wonder Pakistan is at the condition it is, because of folks like him. Has no track record to show but talks like Bradman of Pakistan. In his playing days, he was not extra ordinary batsman.

PCB please hire foreign manager and coaches for batting, bowling and fielding. The local ex players may be great at their time but the game has changed. This will also take care of politics that comes as baggage with the local players. The team also needs a psychologist to train them for performing under pressure.

This is not a perfect attitude Mr Mohsin... Waseem was a junior but was a world class Bowler. His achievements compared to yours are way too many ... do not judge Waseem bhai and Rameez like the way you are judging ... PCB Should stay away from people like you...

Mohsin will be a great coach for Pakistan. We need this kind of attitude in the team to manage players like Akmal,Shezad and afridi. He is smart and have great communication skill.I hope he will apply for the post and consider for this job opportunity.

Mohsin Khan is a thorough gentleman and is advocating that he has won three series as a coach during his tenure. Everbody knows that those series were won by Pakistani best spinners on favourable wickets. Does he has experience of taking team to England, Australia or South Africa and winning the series there. At this stage we need to convert talent into skills which needs a major change in the system and Mohsin Khan is not capable of doing that. Inzi can be a better coach than him and he had recently shown that in Afghan win against WI.

These comments appear to be from those who know what will happen to them if Mohsin Khan takes the job. Let me assure you Cricket will meet the fate of Squash, Hockey and Football unless men with dignity are in charge. And Mohsin Khan has all the successful past and dignity. PCB is looking for someone who either begs or has connections. NO FOREIGN COACH. This will be an insult to Pakistan Cricket. New PCB should decide. This PCB must be burried.

And he was the BEST coach pakistan had-----there was no reason to let him go and get Dav Whatmore after his successful tour with the team---.
That was extremely thoughtless by the board. Since that time---it has been down hill.

It is very mischievous of the PCB to make new candidates interviewed by Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja.
What if Najam Sethi has to be interviewed by Wasim Badami, Junaid Jamshed and Umar Sharif for a role in media. Will he agree???
The PCB is setting a very bad example of disrespecting the legends of our cricket by making them appear before their juniors!!!

Respect him as a player and the short stint he had as a coach, but not sure why this has to be made an ego issue. Wasim/Ramiz have been given the job to find a coach, age should not be a factor. Does this me, he will never work somewhere where he is interviewed by anyone younger then him?
