BAHAWALNAGAR: A fake faith healer slashed the tongue of a youth and tortured him as well in Saddar here on Wednesday.

Reports said the prolonged ailment made Mazhar Husain of Bonga Ehsan ‘deranged’. His family took him to ‘faith healer’ Israr Husain of Mari Qadir Bakhsh for spiritual treatment.

He demanded from the family of Mazhar Rs10,000 for his full recovery within few hours.

The fake faith healer and his disciple took Mazhar to an adjacent house where he was tortured with clubs and iron rods.

They finally slashed his tongue and then escaped from the scene when he fell unconscious.

The family shifted Mazhar to a hospital. Later, the family staged a demo against the incident and demanded strict action against the accused.
