KARAK: The academic council of the Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak has approved two seats for the students of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. The decision was taken at a meeting of the council presided over by Vice-Chancellor Dr Ibrahim Khattak on Wednesday. It also approved to give fee remission to those students who were appearing in the university examinations from jails.
The council accorded approval to the schemes of studies recommended by the board of studies of geology, English, library science and bio-informatics departments. It also approved schemes of studies of BSc computer science and BS computer science for affiliated colleges, and syllabus of the University of Peshawar for private candidates of MA and MSc.
WATER SHORTAGE: The residents of Karak city have complained of acute water shortage due to apathy of the tehsil municipal administration.
Speaking at a meeting on Wednesday, they said of the five TMA tube-wells three had turned brackish and the remaining could not fulfill the increasing water demand of the residents.
They said the Zebi dam water supply scheme had failed to deliver the requisite drinking water to the city, forcing people to purchase the commodity.
