MUZAFFARABAD: A resident of Kai Manja village near Azad Jammu and Kashmir's Muzaffarabad district was allegedly raped by her husband's friends in what she termed a premeditated plot, police said Monday.

The woman, after a dispute with her husband, was staying at her parent's house. Her husband persuaded her to return home after his uncle provided a guarantee on his behalf, Station House Officer (SHO) Garhi Dupatta Babar Rafiq cited the woman as saying.

She said the rape appeared to be planned, as six men were waiting for her when she got home from her parent's house who then raped her, the police official said.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the gang rape, the SHO said, adding that the search for the woman's husband — the prime suspect — and the others is ongoing.

The arrested men were remanded into police custody until March 23.
