PESHAWAR: The All Pakistan Shuhada-e-Army National Ranking badminton tournament carrying a prize money of Rs600,000 will be held at the Services Club here from Thursday (today) to Tuesday.

This was stated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association president Zafar Ali Khan while addressing a press conference at the tournament venue on Wednesday.

He said Peshawar’s Corps Commander Lt General Hidayat-ur-Rehman will inaugurate the tournament.

Around 120 players, both male and female, from Army, Wapda, Railways, Police, SSGC, PIA, NBP, Military Accounts, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Fata, Islamabad and the four provinces will vie for the top honours in men’s singles and doubles, ladies singles and doubles and mixed doubles.

Iftikhar Ahmad, Amjad Khan and Mian Sadaqat Shah have been named as tournament referee, deputy referee and organising secretary respectively.
