KARACHI: Four juvenile prisoners escaped from the juvenile prison located inside the central prison allegedly owing to negligence of the staff, it emerged on Wednesday.

Three of them were ‘recovered’ by the jail staff and brought back on Tuesday night. The incident had occurred on May 1.

The escape of the four teenage prisoners was not reported to the police station concerned, said Gulshan SP Dr Fahad Ahmed. The prisoners fled from the ‘remand room’ of the prison allegedly owing to the negligence of ‘someone’ from among the staff.

“We have received information that three of them have been recovered and brought back to the juvenile prison,” said the the Gulshan SP, adding that the fourth one, identified as Amjad, was still untraceable. The three prisoners were identified as Mustafa, Rashid and Junaid. All the juvenile prisoners were arrested by Anti-Car Lifting Cell in Nazimabad, SITE and Superhighway industrial area police for their alleged involvement in criminal activities.
