ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued active taxpayers list (ATL) for the tax year 2015, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
The ATL 2015 contains computerised national identity card numbers, names of individuals, national tax numbers, names of companies and association of persons who filed their income tax returns for the tax year.
The names of those taxpayers who had filed their returns in the tax year 2014 but failed to file tax returns for 2015 have not been included in the latest ATL.
Such taxpayers would be treated as non-filers and require to pay income tax as per enhanced withholding tax rates on the pattern of other non-filers as per various provisions of law, the statement said.

My name is included in the list so what benefit shall I get? Shall I get good health services in public hospitals? Should I move my kids from private schools to government schools and they will get good education in public schools? This is unfortunate that those who file tax get no benefits from government. I have been filing tax regularly for more than ten years (since I started job) but each year my tax increases but those who do not file tax get no penalty. Did I make mistake when I decided to file tax for the first time?

Every pakistani is paying taxes indirectly and many by directly , too. the main problem with the fbr is not to collect the taxes but to avoid the leakage from its bowl as bueraucracy with the help of ministers and contractors making the holes in the bowl. So this bowl can't be filled even if the govt increased tax rate to 50 per cent. the day when this leakage in the bowl of taxes will be filled the country will run very smoothly. a new crystal clear system in awarding the contracts of all kinds is the need of the time.

@Imran Hameed : Of course, but God promises some reward in this world as well for righteous. He says, do your job honestly and rightly and leave the reward to me. You do not and cannot know how much, when and where the reward will be bestowed. So, have faith.
