LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has reiterated that the friendship between China and Pakistan is stronger than steel and deeper than the deepest oceans.

He was the chief guest at the Chinese cultural performance at Alhamra, The Mall. The performance was organised by the Punjab government and Consulate General of People’s Republic of China in connection with celebrations of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China.

The CM said the Chinese cultural performance was in fact a celebration of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), great future prospects for both the countries and their commitment to support each other.

The Chinese dance performances were given by the Hunan Troupe. The opening performance was a group dance in which the dancers were holding colorful hand fans and silk ribbons. A combination of Chinese traditional acrobatics and western ballet dance was appreciated by the audience for its fresh visual impact.

The Chinese classical dance was also superb besides the folk music. Combining traditional Chinese instruments of erhu, pipa and bamboo flute, the music demonstrated the beauty of the spring night in the southern part of China.
