ISLAMABAD: Three teams from Punjab and one from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa moved into the semi-finals of the National Under-18 Hockey Championship after defeating their opponents on Sunday here at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium.

In the first match of the day, Punjab Colours outclassed Islamabad 4-0 with Mohammad Ahmed, Fraz Ahmed, Usman Janjua and Hamid Ali scoring one goal each for the winning side.

On the other hand, Punjab Blues overpowered Sindh 3-0 in the second quarter-final. Mohammad Mubashir, Saqlan and Farhan Ali scored one goal each for the winning team.

The third quarter-final saw Punjab Whites blank Punjab Greens 3-0 with Waqas Ali netting two goals for the winners. The other goal was scored by Zulqarnain.

Also, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Colours defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Whites 3-1 in the last quarter-final.

Semi-finals will be played on Monday with the final being scheduled for Tuesday. Thirteen teams from across the country are taking part in the championship.
