Mickey Arthur set to join Pakistan camp in the first week of June

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's newly appointed Head Coach Mickey Arthur will join the national side in the first week of June.

After a chaotic selection procedure that attracted controversies, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) finalised the 48-year-old to be the right fit for the job earlier this month.

A PCB official told that Arthur will join the team on 4th or 5th of June. “Finally the wait is over and Mickey will be joining the players,” he said.

Arthur, who coached Karachi Kings in the inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier this year, replaces former Pakistan quick Waqar Younis, who relinquished the post after Pakistan's deplorable run in the Asia Cup T20 and ICC World T20.

The national side will take part in the week-long training camp scheduled to begin from today. The final squad for the tour of England will be finalised after the skill camp on June 6.

Pakistan is scheduled to take on the Britons in four Tests, five One-Day Internationals, and a T20 International starting from July 14.

All very chaotic, so close to start of a major tour. All Brady organised. Waqar should have been kept for the test series, with handover to new coach to manage to one day series. After all Waqar relinquished his pay, this how it should not happen. Any way, let's hope the players unite under Misbah who has done a wonderful job and a very stabilising influence.

..wow how cook is this, looks like PCB is making sure all his work is down well before he joins without any of his involvement: 1. Fitness camp done! 2. training camp to be concluded on the 5th june! 3. Final squad to be selected after training camp! 4. Arthur joins after the training camp on the 5th!!! Bravo!!! I guess they are bringing him in to practice the month of fasting...which begins around the 7th!!! this clearly shows whos wants to be the boss & who they dont want to be the boss!!!

@abdullah do you really want guys to sit at their home till new coach join and they start training? critics always have a point to criticism even though if they are 99.9% correct critic will come with that 1% out and says that and this having no knowledge of cricket...
