Ever wondered what would happen if the superheroes of Teen Titans were pitted against the very people they admired — the Justice League? Think no more as Batman and Co. have new competition, and the leader of the gang is none other than his own son — Robin!
Justice League vs. Teen Titans is a direct-to-video superhero film and unlike the other ‘versus’ movies, this animated flick is full of action that you expect to see — on one hand there is Batman, on the other there is Robin; Cyborg battles Superman; Nightwing takes on Wonder Woman and so forth. Then there is Raven as well whose father, Trigon, wants to have her back as well as dominate the Earth at the same time. He uses the Justice League (through magic, of course) for this purpose but even then, doesn’t succeed.
Even with the help of the mighty villains (and some of the heroes), Trigon loses because he forgot to take the young ones seriously. Damian Wayne, aka Robin, at first looks uncomfortable at the Teen Titans headquarters, but he realises that in order to work with them he will have to act as part of the team rather than someone going solo. He respects Raven the most and it wouldn’t be inappropriate to say that they are the leads here, not Wonder Woman and Superman. Even the scenes where the Teen Titans are fighting look more enjoyable than the sequences featuring the League!
The confidence with which Damian Wayne, aka Robin, announces that he would be able to take care of Superman or where he doesn’t listen to his grandfather, Ra’s Al Ghul, are scenes that make this animated flick a must-watch!
It has Justice League in a secondary role because they are the ones who have gone rogue and against the interest of their planet; Teen Titans save them and hence it is their movie. They dance (literally), they fight (fantastically) and they outsmart the world’s finest by being better at whatever they do.
