KARACHI: Two members of the Hindu community were among three people shot dead in an attack on a wine shop in the Abbas Town area of the metropolis on Sunday evening.
“Two armed individuals on a motorcycle attacked the wine shop,” said Malir SSP Rao Anwar.
The police official added the shop manager, a salesman and a guard died as a result of the attack, while another guard sustained gunshot wounds.
“We are investigating the attack,” said Anwar.
He stated that an initial probe suggested the attack might be linked with non-payment of extortion.

These wine shop are heavily in all over Muslim neighborhood instead of being in the Christian or other minority groups . We as a Muslim country is opening new windows of alcoholism , adultery and all unethical practices in a heavy Muslim nation . Most of the alcohol users are Muslims and all the Nightclubs are crowded with Muslim youngsters . We are already behind any other neighbor in economy and progress but we have only opened to western cultures without getting the benefits of Western economy and advancements !

@Abdulla Hussain Authorised and licenced wine shops are not there for muslims but for non muslims and foreigners. U need to show your ID to buy alcohol. Hence ideally no pakistani muslim can buy alcohol from there. Instead of banning these shops which results in sufferring of non muslims, those muslims who buy these products should be punished. Even Islam allows non muslims to consume and buy alcohol in an Islamic state thus we can thave this ban

@Abdulla Hussain - why not ? There are hundreds of non Muslims in Pakistan who do not consider alcohol a taboo. Why do you want to impose your will on them. Taking someone 's life is no justification if you do n't agree with him

Intolerance is something religion does not teach......people who force their views on others are doing religion a major disservice.

@Abdullah Hussain: dear sir, let the people decide if they want to drink or not. Who are you to pass the judgement that there should not be any wine shop in Pakistan?

Alcoholic drink is bad for everyone to consume. No religion has ever permitted its followers to consume Liquor. If a Muslim is committing a sin by consuming liquor so is the case with consumers of other religion, it is a menace in the society. Being a non Muslim is not a permit to trade in & consume alcoholic drink especially in a Muslim society. Killing of innocent is also not permissible and the perpetrator should be punished.
