QUETTA: Inspector General of Balochistan Police Ahsan Mehboob said on Monday that a comprehensive plan had been designed for the security of mosques and imambargahs in Quetta during Ramazan.

He was presiding over a meeting held here to review security arrangements during the holy month.

The IG said over 1,100 additional security personnel would be deployed around mosques, imambargahs and other places of worship.

He directed officials concerned to use all available resources to maintain law and order during Ramazan.

He expressed satisfaction over deployment of additional security personnel and said they would ensure security at Sehri, Iftari, Taravih and prayers times.

The meeting was informed that 25 additional snap-checking points had been set up in the city, besides formation of 53 patrolling teams and 66 falcon teams. Among the new deployment of 1,100 personnel, 200 are from Balochistan Constabulary and some from the Rapid Response Group.
