A wonderful tribute to film actress Rani on her 23rd death anniversary (May 27) was jointly paid by her daughter Rabia and collector and admirer of the Pakistan film industry, Guddu, by holding an exhibition of rare pictures, posters, story books, booklets and photo sets at the Alhamra Art Gallery.

The show was attended by distinguished film personalities including Reema, Shaan, Bahar Begum, Shahid and Mustafa Qureshi. But the exhibition became memorable for one more reason. Actress Rakhshi Begum (who also designed Rani’s dresses for films Umrao Jan, Tahzeeb and Anjuman) and Munawwar Rani (a girl who played the part of an extra from 1972-84) showed up at the event as well. The guests thoroughly appreciated the effort.
