HYDERABAD: Sindh High Court Hyderabad on Wednesday ordered Senior Superintendent Police Hyderabad to ensure presence of investigating officer in the 'murder' case of 11-year-old child, Inder Vineet Hotwani.
A division bench comprising Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Anwar Hussain gave the orders after hearing deceased boy’s father in person.
Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar also issued notices to Mushtaq Memon, Administrator Hyderabad Club, a Sindh Sports Board facility, in-charges of security and information technology and SHO police station G.O.R colony. Dr Chetan Das appear before the court to argue his case as his counsel was out of present.
Holding case paper sin his hand, Das told the court that his only son has been murdered. “But I am not being ensured justice by concerned authorities”, he said and explained background of the case in response to queries of Justice Mazhar, who gave him a patient hearing. He has filled a joint petition with his wife, Baby Bai and Atam Parkash Chanani, who is said to be founder of Hindu Helpline Pakistan.
“Inder Vineet was quite well when he went to school in the day. Then he went to Hyderabad Club for swimming and said we have recently become club’s member”, he said and added that “my son is murdered but incident is being claimed as drowning”, he said.
He asserted that club management is reluctant to share the video footage of close circuit television (CCTV) and they are hiding everything.
He disclosed he has managed to lodge the FIR but not satisfied with its content. “It is registered in a generalized way. without nomination of any accused. I doubt involvement of club administrator and lifeguards,” he said, adding that no post mortem was conducted and referred to Aga Khan University Hospital report shows that lungs did not have collection of water. “I am shocked why doesn’t club management share footage so that we should remain calm if my son died naturally”, he repeatedly stated before court.
He disclosed that he got only one clip from the recording in which body of his son shown being carried by a man on his shoulder. “There are marks of violence [on body]”, he said.
Inder Vineet died in Hyderabad Club on April 13 where he went for swimming with his friends. His family rejects club management's claims that he drowned in pool while swimming.
