MURREE: Two staff members of Cecil Resort, apartments in the area, were injured, one of them is serious, when a man, his two sons and guards opened fire on them over some monetary dispute.

Heavy firing in the air sent a wave of terror among the residents of the resort who took to the streets to protest against the firing and the role of police, as according to locals, despite various calls to police they did not turn up to control the situation.

Later the accused locked themselves in an apartment which was besieged by the locals, who after seven hours struggle managed to capture them and hended them over to police who reached there after six hours incident.

Later on intervention of local elders an FIR was registered against them.

The accused live in his apartment in Cecil Resort and had some financial dispute with the administration as he refused to pay regarding maintenance charges. The issue was, however, settled by the notables of the area.

But the next day he along with his sons and gunmen brutally beat a staff member of Cecil Resort and after some time they started firing on the office of the administration, injuring two people.

Talking to this correspondent, Abdul Hameed Abbasi, former president Murree Traders’ Organisation, Haji Shakeel Abbasi, Chairman UC Sehr Bagla, Omer Farooq Satti Chairman UC Ghehl and others said that Murree was a peaceful hill station and thousands of local people get their livelihood from the city and no one would be allowed to damage the peace of the city.

They appealed to the authorities concerned to take action against the alleged negligence of police.
