LAHORE: Lahore and Rawalpindi won men and women’s titles respectively in the two-day Punjab Archery Championship which ended here on Thursday night.

Lahore’s men team comprised Zulfiqar Ali, Danish Abbas and Aamir Zaidi.

Rawalpindi remained runners-up.

In the open category, Lahore again came out as winners when its Adeel Qadir won gold medal and his team-mate Hafiz Rehman seized silver.

In the women’s category, Rawalp­indi comprising Fauzia Mumtaz, Aqsa Na­w­az and Sara Shahzad won gold medal while Lahore team of Saira Dilshad, Nighat and Abida claimed silver.

Aqsa Nawaz of Rawalpindi won gold medal in the open category while Mehwish Akhtar of the same city claimed silver.

President of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) retired Lt Gen Arif Hasan, who is also president of the Pakistan Archery Federation, distributed the prizes.
