FAISALABAD: The city traffic police have developed an android application for mobile phones to keep commuters updated round the clock regarding traffic flow, challan deposit centres, incident reports and other issues.

Chief Traffic Officer Arif Shahbaz said it would be a unique effort in the country through which the motorists could get instant traffic updates, report an incident and complaint, get information about centres to deposit challan fines and online verification.

“It is a pro-active approach to solicit greater public participation in traffic-related issues. With the help of this application, the traffic police would provide services and information to people round the clock,” he said.

The city traffic police had recently reactivated its Facebook page to ensure greater public participation in relevant issues, he said and added that duty roster of traffic wardens also had been computerised.

All driving tests are being recorded through videos and biometric system had been installed in offices to ensure presence of the office staff, he said.
