QUETTA: Four security personnel of Frontier Corps were killed when their vehicle came under attack in Quetta’s Double Road area on Wednesday evening, FC Spokesman Khan Wasey said.

Three personnel died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries on his way to the hospital, Wasey added.

Police officials said the assailants fled away on motorcycles after the attack.

Deputy Inspector General Police Chaudhary Manzoor Sarwar said the incident appeared to be an act of targeted killing. He said important evidence was collected from the spot.

Sarwar hinted that there was a link between the recent police killings and this attack on FC personnel in Quetta.

Frontier Corps personnel and police officials reached the spot as investigation into the incident went underway.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

This incident comes only a day after the killing of four policemen in Quetta's Sariab road and Hazar Ganji area on Tuesday.
