KARACHI: The Sindh Tennis Association will organise the first Ebrahim Merchant Memorial Ranking Tennis Championship at the Karachi Club from July 17-23, the STA announced on Friday.

Events to be contested in the high-profile event are men’s singles, ladies singles, junior U-17 singles, U-15 singles, U-13 singles, U-11 singles, U-9 singles, 35-plus doubles and 45-plus Doubles.

Also, for the first time in national tennis history, two events of soft tennis in collaboration with the Pakistan Soft Tennis Association (PSTA) and an event of para athletes supported by Para Sports Pakistan will be added in the championship.

Last date of players’ entry is July 15. All out-station players will get daily allowance as per STA rules.

Former David Cupper Khawaja Saeed Hai is the president of the STA organising committee while Kamran Sarhadi is the tournament director and Khalid Rehmani is the referee.
