KOHAT: The students of Cadet College Kohat have clinched the top three positions in the Higher Secondary School Certificate examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat.
Announcing the results, controller of the board Vaqar Ahmed said that cadet Mohammad Idrees got first position with 1,020 marks, cadet Mohammad Usman second with 999 marks and Hasnain Hamid remained third with 994 marks out of total 1,100 marks.
In the general science group, a student of Hangu Institute of Science and Technology Mohammad Hasnain grabbed first position with 905 marks, while Mohammad Hamid and Naeemullah of Oxford School and College, Darra Adamkhel got second and third positions with 879 and 873 marks, respectively.
In arts group, Ms Arfarda of Alizai college, Kurram Agency, got top position by obtaining 841 marks.
Ms Kainat of Lachi college clinched second position with 835 marks and Zakir Mohammad of Gumbat college stood third by securing 833 marks.
HEALTH FACILITIES: District health officer, Kohat, Dr Abdul Khaliq visited the rural health center, Bilitang, here on Saturday and promised the local councillors that all staff would be completed within a week.
He visited the facility following complaints of the councillors, led by Abdul Faheem, that people of the area had been facing problems due to shortage of paramedics and doctors.
He was told that people were not being provided medicines in the hospital.
The DHO assured them of solution of the problems within a week.
Meanwhile, the delegations of elders from Nowshera, Charsadda and Peshawar visited Kohat on two-day study tour to benefit from the experience of local reconciliatory committees.
They spent two days in Ustarzai and Kohat city where police officials briefed them about the working of reconciliatory committees in solving the land and family disputes and strengthening of bond between the people and police.
