GWADAR: The University of Turbat announced on Thursday that a sub-campus of the university would be set up in Gwadar.

The move follows approval by Balochistan Governor and Chancellor of Turbat University Mohammad Khan Achakzai and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and issuance of a notification for establishment of the sub-campus in Gwadar.

The sub-campus will be turned into a full-fledged university of international standard in future.

The campus will offer graduation and diploma courses in some market-oriented subjects from January next year.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be requested to inaugurate the sub-campus in Gwadar.

The Turbat University has also been assigned the task by the Higher Education Commission to prepare a PC-1 of a full-fledged University of Gwadar to be established in future, and submit the Charter of the University of Gwadar to authorities concerned for approval. The Vice Chancellor of Turbat University, Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir, has been assigned the task of overseeing and monitoring the plan.
